Job Description:

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Complete S.A.F.E. observations monthly (1)
  • Maintain constant safety awareness on shift.
  • Understand all safety functions and power press regulations for the area, making sure interlocks and guarding is in compliance.
  • Understand and comply with Housekeeping Requirements for the Front End
  • Complete weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual PM’s for all said equipment and log in plant CMMS.
  • Able to operate all aspects of the bodymaker and trimmer, and cupper.
  • Identify ongoing machine problems, trends, improvements in stability and production to improve output where required for the bodymaker and trimmer.
  • Determine trends and patterns using front end data and use to determine wear life for preventative maintenance and schedule accordingly. (QAS)
  • Train other PMRs and/or Mechanics
  • Participate in die set tracking, rebuilds, trimmer rebuilds and maintenance network.
  • Maintain good order and tracking of maintenance reports in CMMS.
  • Assist with line coverage and help with line breakdowns as / if required.
  • Assist with tear offs when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong proven working experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting skills and equipment re-build expertise are required for these roles
  • Experience in using controls and settings on high-speed automated equipment
  • High competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related equipment
  • Strong math and computer skills
  • Effective and proven communication skills working in a team environment
  • Have a good understanding of tooling and its intent/design
  • Possess good mechanical base and fault finding skills
  • Ability to work alone as well as work effectively in a team environment
  • Competency with machine shop equipment (i.e grinding/milling)
  • Must have own basic set of tools
  • Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening, and work overtime as needed

Preferred Requirements

  • An Associates/technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification (state electrical license, journeyman license, etc.).
  • Working experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders/stairs, or crawl
  • The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus

Working Conditions

  • Generally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
  • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
  • The noise level is frequently loud
