The Office of the President at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as an Executive Assistant to the President. The anticipated start date is May 1, 2026.

Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. Morehead State University is recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, Morehead State University is relatively close to a number of larger cities including Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY, and Cincinnati, OH. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Assistant to the President is an exempt, professional position. Responsibilities include performing a variety of professional and administrative duties that facilitate the day-to-day operations of the office of the President. Assists in planning and development; interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding operating policies and procedures; and coordinates, plans, and processes information. The person in this position is required to exercise high level independent judgement and make decisions that accurately reflect the interest and intent of the Office of the President. The individual must have the ability to interact favorably with the general public as well as constituents across campus.

REQUIREMENTS: The Executive Assistant shall hold a bachelor’s degree, or an associate’s degree with a minimum of four years of experience in a professional office environment. The Executive Assistant shall demonstrate an understanding of applicable policies, procedures, and administrative regulations of the University.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of three years of experience in higher education is preferred along with a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with all levels of professional, technical and administrative staff and to integrate resources on a timely and organized basis. Excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills are also preferred.
SPONSORSHIP: This position is not budgeted for Visa Sponsorship.
